We’re now serving Banstead

We recently started to offer carpet cleaning in Banstead  and we’ve very much enjoyed getting to know our way around.

Banstead’s in green and leafy Surrey, but still very handy for commuting into the city of London.  It sits on the North Downs, famed for their beauty, and Banstead Downs in an Area of Special Scientific Interest (an SSSI) with valuable wildlife including the Small Blue butterfly which is extremely rare, and protected habitat.

As a new local carpet cleaner in Banstead, we’ve also been out and about meeting our customers, leafleting doors and finding out what’s going on in the local community. Although a lot of Banstead residents commute, there’s still a lively high street serving daytime shoppers, and several welcoming coffee shops. We’ve learned that people still talk about the dramatic fire which devastated the local branch of Waitrose just before Christmas in 2008, entering the area’s folklore.

Banstead’s present day inhabitants are proud of its local history which goes back centuries. In Saxon times, four enormous burial mounds were built on the Banstead Downs and can still be seen today.  In the fifteenth century there was also a gallows there, which is the origin of the area name ‘Gally Hills’.

It’s always fun finding out who’s famous in a new area – and Banstead has some very well-known present-day as well as former inhabitants. There’s David Walliams, the actor and comedian made famous by the TV show Little Britain and who’s now a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, as well as the actor, dancer and singer Lionel Blair.

We’re delighted to be in Banstead and we look forward to all the opportunities it has to offer as our company continues to expand.
