We recently started to offer carpet cleaning in Addiscombe, and as always, we’ve been enjoying getting to know the local area.
Addiscombe’s close to central Croydon, stretching from the new look high rise buildings around East Croydon station into the green streets of suburbia. That means it’s handy for central London on a fast, direct train, but also peaceful and quiet.
As a new carpet cleaner in Addiscombe, we’ve been meeting local people, putting leaflets through doors and visiting our customers. It’s a great way to find out what’s going on, and we’ve enjoyed hearing about the popular summer festival in the local park and the award-winning coffee shops on Lower Addiscombe Road.
Not only that, but some famous people came from Addiscombe too. You don’t have to go very far before you find one of the well-known blue plaques put there by English Heritage to commemorate achievement. The writers DH Lawrence and RH Delderfield are both remembered, along with local heroine Betty Westgate who supported people affected by breast cancer for more than 30 years. The small local group she founded from her living room grew and grew thanks to her hard work…. and today it’s better known as the national charity, Breast Cancer Care.
Addiscombe’s a lovely part of the world and we look forward to all the opportunities it has to offer as we continue to expand.
