We recently started to offer carpet cleaning in Chessington, so we’ve been scouting out the local area to find out about everything that’s going on.
The town features in the Domesday Book as Cisedun, or Cisendone… but if you live there nowadays, it’s really all about the rollercoasters! Modern day Chessington is famous for adventures, as everyone knows: the famous theme park, Chessington World of Adventures, is very nearby and also incorporates Chessington Zoo. The park has a range of themed areas based on different world cultures. It features dark rides, water rides and flat rides with names like KOBRA, Land of the Dragons and Adventure Point.
The Park is set in beautiful grounds, so as well as terrifying adventures you can get away from it all to relax, take it easy, sunbathe and picnic. It’s this ‘something for everyone’ offer which brings upwards of 200,000 visitors per year to the attraction.
And for many children, Chessington will always be a notable place in literary history, as it was the childhood home of author Enid Blyton, well-known for her children’s writing including the ‘Famous Five’ series and the ‘Secret Seven’ books, and (of course!) the creator of Noddy! Petula Clark, the 1960s singer, was also a resident of Chessington.
As a new carpet cleaner in Chessington, we’ve been meeting local people, putting leaflets through doors and getting out about to meet our new customers. It’s a great way to find out what’s going on, and we’re looking forward to meeting more locals and establishing ourselves as part of the community.
We’re not sure if we’re brave enough to face all the rides, but we certainly look forward to the opportunities Chessington offers us as we continue to expand.
