Other types of rugs, most notably those made from sensitive natural fibres like wool or hand-woven rugs, usually require cleaning by hand, and this is where taking them to our off-site centre is the preferred option. You don’t even need to worry about getting your rugs to and from our facility, as we operate a rug collection and delivery service for Hythe customers, which includes packaging your cleaned rugs.

Rugs at our specialist, state-of-the-art workshop undergo a multi-step cleaning procedure, which involves removing dust from a rug with a rug duster, before putting a rug inside a special cleaning pit for hand cleaning. At this stage a rug will be full of water, so we can remove 90% of the water and cleaning residues by placing a rug in a fast-rinsing centrifuge. Rugs are then left to complete the final drying stages in a carefully controlled environment, where the heat and humidity levels are strictly regulated.
